The north 40

This is our north 40. Actually, there is probably 100 acres, less the windrows of logging debris left from clearing the land. The hills are to the west of us, and this is the far northwest corner of the section.

Beaver dam

We have our very own beaver dam as well. It's about 6 feet high, and there's a second one downstream that's about 2 feet high. The unfortunate thing is that the old cat (bulldozer type) trail that crosses the creek is upstream of the big dam, so it's under about 8 feet of water. The creek cuts the land in half, with all the cleared land on the north side. The cat crossing is likely the only way to easily get vehicles across to that side, so we may have to encourage the beavers to move along the next time the dam washes out. Judging by the number of dam remains scattered along the creek, this must happen fairly frequently.

Cameron Lake

Cameron Lake is a small park on the way from Hudson's Hope to Chetwynd. As usual, pictures don't do justice to the autumn foliage.
