Side of semi being decorated by nephew and friend a day before the big move.
I left with the van and our two dogs first, she kept giving me that "are we there yet" look. We camped at the city campground until the semi driver arrived with our worldly possessions and I led the way to our property in a ranching community. As it was the land was too wet to drive onto so our neighbour has rented us a spot until things dry up and our road to the homesite is finished.
As I mentioned it was wet on our property….so after we got the van out, yes, the truck was stuck for a few minutes. We are learning the "way of clay" when it is wet!
Brian with Andrew in the trailer looking at the solar charge controller. Brian drove up the jeep and stayed for a week helping with the setup of our temporary home.
First things first, set up a pen for the dogs so they don't go running off into the wild blue yonder!
Picking up the battery barn shed in Chetwynd. The shed will be the home for the solar batteries.
And here is our temporary homesite. Nicely tucked into poplar regrowth from logging a few years ago, it is very cozy. Lovely to hear the wind blowing through the leaves and looking out our windows and seeing nothing but green! We are staying in an older 5th wheel located in front of the van.
The barn trusses are up!
Brian had started to mow around the driveway which made it look so much more organized soo.. I got my hands on it. While he was busy with the shed I cleared a spot for our tent screen we had received as a going away gift.
The roof goes on the shed.
This was looking north over top of our 5th wheel.
The first of the 4 solar batteries is brought into the new battery barn.
With the batteries set up, the solar panels came next.
And here we have power to run the toaster the next morning!
Andrew cutting wood on our homesite. With winter coming, we have to cut and dry wood to last the season.
Here I am mowing the regrowth at our homesite. This is looking east along our new road.
These trees all lean towards the creek so sometimes we need to pull them up for cutting.
At our homesite looking south. We have 3/4 of an acre cleared on our section so we have a ways to go before there is any land for cultivation. But first a house to live in! (Andrew is coiling a rope, if you're wondering.)
